613 Region
Addition of a new area code, 343 will be the new Area Code
Release Date: May 17, 2010
The 613 region, which stretches across many communities in eastern Ontario — including Ottawa, Kingston, Brockville, Cornwall, Belleville and Bancroft — will now consist of two area codes (613 and 343).
The new area code will be introduced starting May 17th, 2010. The new area code will be assigned to new numbers only, existing phone numbers will remain unchanged.
Please Note: When programming communications equipment, do not include the “1” for local 343/819/613 calls.
450 Region
Addition of a new area code, 579 will be the new Area Code
Release Date: August 21, 2010
The 450 area code, which stretches across southern Quebec, including Joliette, Granby, St-Hyacinthe, St-Jérôme, St-Lambert, Longueuil, Valleyfield, Ste-Thérèse, Sorel, Boucherville, Chomedey, St-Jean, Pont-Viau, and Laval-Ouest — will now consist of two area codes (450 and 579).
The new area code will be introduced starting August 21, 2010. The new area code will be assigned to new numbers only, existing phone numbers will remain unchanged.

705 Region
Addition of a new area code, 249 will be the new Area Code
Release Date: March 19, 2011
The 705 area code, which stretches across many communities in northern Ontario — including Alliston, Barrie, Collingwood, Elliot Lake, Hastings, Lindsay, Millbrook, North Bay, Orillia, Peterborough, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Timmins, Warkworth — will now consist of two area codes (705 and 249).
The new area code will be introduced starting March 19, 2011. The new area code will be assigned to new numbers only, existing phone numbers will remain unchanged.
